Somat ecoShred® Shredder Reduces Waste Volume Without Using Water
Lancaster, Pa. -- A new dry shredder has been introduced that produces the same end result as a close-coupled pulper, with significantly reduced water usage and lowered energy consumption. The ecoShred® dry shredder from Somat Company – targeted for self-bussing, total disposable applications like schools and hospitals – achieves waste volume reduction comparable to conventional pulpers without the use of water.

On March 1, 2010 the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that the ITW Food Equipment Group - North America - of which Stero is a member - received a 2010 ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence award. Among commercial foodservice equipment manufacturers. ITW FEG is the sole recipient of the Sustained Excellence designation.
